Week 5 : Age Discrimination

Age discrimination is a short abbreviation of ageism. In my terms, I will first define what democracy is, for me this is treating someone in there individuality. They treat other people unfairly due on their non-capability or differences because of their membership on a particular group. So let's get back on age discrimination. Most ageism happens in workplaces, this is when discriminating because of there age. Some companies are retiring the age of 40 but this is not the proper age to retire someone, because I think the companies thinks that they are not good enough to work. But, some companies pends on other that they may trust there skills on doing something that they can even in their age. And some discriminate the mid-thirties which is not right. They hire the younger ages that has more energy than others, but you cannot measure one person on their ages but in their capability or in their potential. The retirement age is 65, this is the most proper, in this age you are now a senior citizen(50 above).

This may happen when your discriminating because of their skin, culture or their similarities. In here, you may have limit opportunities. This may be considered in a game, like when playing basketball, that you must be part of the junior or the senior one, ageism is now happened here. Or when paying in the jeepneys, students and senior citizen mostly they have discounts differ on others. That is legal due on law.

87% believe that most women experience age discrimination because boys have more energy or like that, they are more immune. 40% of the companies are more interested in interviwing young applicants. It is not possible to create something with your age, it is how you can develop yourself as a citizen here. You can be able to pertain something. Some says that age doesn't matter if your willing to do something.

Week 4 : Keep It Original

Most of the time, one of us use plagiarism. Some says that plagiarism is stealing someone else original idea, or copying the work of the others. If disobeying the laws, you can go to jail, if you are caught in doing it. It's illegal and like taking another's ability and honor. Some are not ashamed of doing this things. Copy right is a original work of others that are placed in things that are originated by companies, pictures or projects and etc. Copying and pasting information on the net is an example of plagiarism. Students do this for their homework. That's why some students are to lazy to work on their own assignments, they'll just copy and paste, or right down on their papers.

 You can copy all the work, but make sure that you have the permission in the owner. And you can use it but include the main source to prevent plagiarism. It is usually done by the ones who are imitating the products and sell it to some place that the source of the product doesn't know. I actually saw this scene in Wet markets, or the sides of the roads that are people usually walk through. Well, this is not a crime but for me it is. This is very unfair to those who work hard on their projects or ideas and stuffs. One more thing, it is also done by pirated Cd's and not register. It is also plagiarism. It insult others as well.

Students can alarm everybody to stop plagiarism, everybody has a huge imagination or big ideas to evaluate the things that they know. Everybody has it's own way and knowledge to have originality. So as students, we have the power or the capability to act as one of the non-plagiarize. 

Week 3 : A Fun Long Weekend Days

Since I heard that we will  having a long weekend, I kept on smiling cause i'm having a lot of sleep, I can relax for a couple of days. So I didn't think much of the projects or the assignments that day. I relax myself and think nothing.

So when the weekend started, it's very tragic that a storm was coming here in the Philippines. The storm name was Mina, I laughed because that was the name of my classmate Sharmina Ahmed. We tease him not in a bad way but we tease her in a good way. So that, I plan to come and visit with my neighbor but my plans are cancelled because of that awful storm.

And the major thing that I did in my long weekend was to chill, sleep, eat, texting with my friends and watching television. It's quite boring to say. I just want to go to school. At school, I can do lots of things in a very good lycean manner way. There, I can chat with my classmates, giggle with them and learn something new with my professors.

Since, I do nothing on that day, my eyes and the Facebook are now best friends because all day I was on the front of my laptop. Then I saw this Photo liking contest, so I decided to join. I persuade them to like my photo. The winning price was 200 peso load. And there, I started to campaign and it is due on September 7. At first I was the only one who got the most liked photo. But today I saw my opponent that she has the most like. So, I'm so impossible to win the contest. I have no one to ask to like my photo. Ugh, but it's okay. It's been a great contest anyway. Be a sport and take that as an inspiration to excel your self to the next level.

Furthermore, My old group-mates with Jeric (MMA 2-1 batch) decided to create a music video again, we didn't expect that it would be so fun to create something that's out of this world. I thought on Monday we're gonna create a video. But because of the storm it's been cancelled again. So storms are very disturbing creatures. We must never provoke our mother nature. We must act now or it's going to be never.

So for the summarize of my long weekend was kinda boring but I got a lot of rest and some point I had fun doing nothing.

Week 2 : The Country Observes The Month of August

The 'Linggo ng Wika' there's a lot of things that happen last friday and last wednesday. I and my other classmates participated the folk dance and at first we cram about our dance because miss Santillan said that it would be performed on wednesday. Then when we met her again, she said that we will be performing it on next wednesday. And we were like jumping with joy. We practice a lot, the day comes and it's show time. The performers are prepared and so do we. We have this long gowns like Maria Clara's dress and so graceful looking. After that the ABComm dance and all the CAS cheer them like there's no tomorrow and now it's our turn to dance, at first we thought no one would cheer us but on the second hand my classmates and I were shock cause we've been cheer so loud that we never expected but we didn't make it to the final 5. But I wasn't disappointed cause we did the best we can do and we exerted effort on it.

Then fridays comes, we organize our booth, before the day comes. We arrange all the props or the things that are needed in the booth. And the best part is when we help each other and we bond together. Our exhibit was cinema film covers. And in my views our booth was pretty cool. It's very artistic, all of us work together to present our booth. After that, the lyceum spartans dance troupe performed on the stage and I was fascinated of what they show unto us. There were lifting and throwing the girls, not literally. I was really speechless. We chill for a moment. And the Lakan and Lakambini was up on the show they were all beautiful especially with there costumes. They really stand out.

There were singing and dancing. I didn't much saw any booth but I saw few. This was really fun, I hope next year would be this exciting too.

Week 1 : Half Of My Experiences

Well, its getting harder and harder every step of the way of succeeding. But, I'm use to it cause it's just trials and we have to face it to reach our goals. The half of my experiences in lyceum was fun and have more surprises ahead. Its just the beggining and i'm having a lot of fun and at the same time my head is really over baggage now. Sometimes it's easy and others are hard. And we have to sucrifice it for our future.

Being a multi-media student is really really fun. And i'm proud of being one of them. Now, i met a lot of friends. I'm very excited when the second, third and fourth year comes. New and exciting things to do.

At first i'm so shy to talk to others but now im okay and fine with them. I accelerate and adjust my self from being on highschool student to college student.

The first semester that I encounter was pretty fun, in commtech we did a video about the history of communication. Me and my groupmates are fun to work with. And we did a project video about college life. And the sad part of ending the first semester was regrouping. I miss my groupmates a lot.

And now the second semester is like going to a fire. I can now feel the heat otherwise it's like getting harder and harder. Like Miss A told us, welcome to hell. And I was like, Oh my GOSH! it's like suspense movie.
Behalf of my quizes and exam, I think some are passed and i'm doubting on my some.

I would love to learn more and experience a lot of things in lyceum. I'm hoping that I would be an awesome multi-media graduate someday.

The New Media

The new media is the new way of sharring, contributing ideas and communicating with others. It lets you get more information. It creates an interesting technologies that people enjoys to do. And it also improve and creates new digital devices. New media will never exist if we, ourselves does not continue building new things, and sharing our thoughts to other to be developed.

Technologies change, on how we handle this. People are advance of creating new things that will change the way of information in giving and recieving. Everyday people discover something in their minds and they'll apply it to the technology that they want to make. That's why each day has a new device.

We communicate with each other to share thoughts, and what is in your mind. Not all of us have same ways on communicating, there are some using Verbal and Non-verbals. But I think most of the time we mostly use Non-verbal. Some ways of communicating is through eyes, body language and etc. We use telephones to talk to others when they are far away from us and it has a fast feedback however when using telegrams we have a delay feedback. Back then they use smoke signals and carvings on the walls and rocks but now it's more high tech ; They already invented a video call so that you can call and see the person who you want to talk to.

In new media, some has a limit and others expand there personal freedom. They use blogs, twitter, facebook etc. to express there personal thoughts, opinions and feelings. And Skills that build expressions. We expand and accelerate our points of views. And some has there limits like they won't share there identity and thogut to the media. And some reveal there personal interest to the public. But we must be careful on publishing our post.

It is also hard to imagine how people survived when there were no cellphones and internet. We are not consumers, were also making things. We enhance our skills and decide if it is realable or not. We have the capacity. In new media it will help you to make great friends. To survive we must be adaptive in all changes.

Social Media Revolution

There are many users that are using different social networking sites.
It takes a billion of people. Well, for today technology is no longer small. It extends in many ways for people to surf and  know communication technology. For example, 15 + weeks of adults are using the internet or the mozilla firefox or other internet sites. 12.2 hours a day of internet are being used everyday. In tweeter 50 million tweets per day are using this and  2-3 seconds makes new account in here. 684 views the wikipedia where you can search all the information needed for school, for companies or just to know everything. The 4th most visited where the youtube where you can watch videos. 100% of photo increase in Facebook , 83% companies use it, 55 minutes use it and 350 use it. In NYXPEX : 7.6 billion in Facebook. This is brought by SME - Social Media Energy.

About 20 years and up until now ice-cream making never stops. It gets bigger and create new ideas in making flavors in ice cream. And it's popular, new and interesting now a days. I laughed in the video when they said that they can make a Pickle ice-cream, It's gross and I don't know if taste better. Ice-cream can communicate to people, because you can share this with your friends, celebrate or make parties, promote and make money with it. By promoting you can use Blog, voice, video and etc.

So here, you can communicate in many and difference ways. They compare it with ice-cream and use sites. They compute and convert on how many viewers and user are using they sites. And let the people know how they been over using it. Consumers are no longer passive, they are active producers. So be wise on communicating to others, it may cause you great opportunities ahead.
